Software comes with the book. The system is called LEKIN and can also be downloaded from http://www.stern.nyu.edu/~mpinedo (the manual is on line and there is also an appendix in the book describing it; this system is primarily geared towards Chapter 5, job shop scheduling).

A somewhat similar system has been developed at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg. That system is called LiSA - A Library of Scheduling Algorithms. LiSA can be downloaded from http://lisa.math.uni-magdeburg.de/.

Many commercial software companies are willing to provide demonstration software showing off their scheduling products. One example is the software of Atlas Business Solutions, Inc. The package is called Visual Staff Scheduler. It can be downloaded from the site http://www.abs-usa.com (this system would provide a nice demo when going through Chapter 9).

A third example of workforce scheduling can also be obtained from Blue Pumpkin Software. Their system is especially geared towards workforce scheduling in call centers. http://www.blue-pumpkin.com.
