ILOG
As you may know, ILOG released a major upgrade to OPL in April 2005. This
new version is much more efficient and uses the latest versions of CPLEX and
Concert Technology. However, models written for the older version of OPL are
not fully compatible with the new version. So Gregory Glockner went ahead and ported
the OPL models from the textbook to work with the new version of OPL, which may
be downloaded at: www.opl.ilog.com

Software comes with the book. The system is called LEKIN and can also be
downloaded from http://www.stern.nyu.edu/~mpinedo
(the manual is on line and there is also an appendix in the book describing it;
this system is primarily geared towards Chapter 5, job shop scheduling).
A somewhat similar system has been developed at the
Otto-von-Guericke-University
Many commercial software companies are willing to provide demonstration
software showing off their scheduling products. One example is the software of
Atlas Business Solutions, Inc. The package is called Visual Staff Scheduler. It
can be downloaded from the site http://www.abs-usa.com
(this system would provide a nice demo when going through Chapter 9).
A third example of workforce scheduling can also be obtained from Blue
Pumpkin Software. Their system is especially geared towards workforce scheduling
in call centers. http://www.blue-pumpkin.com.
